In 1962, Post Cereal released a set of 200 football cards on the boxes of its different cereals in panels varying from three to seven cards per panel, depending on the cereal. They were one-sided, so both the text and the photo were on the same side, and they had to be cut out by hand. Numbering was done alphabetically with in each team and teams were listed in the order of their finish the previous season. Thus, the champion Packers in the set were numbered 1 (Dan Currie) to 15 (Jesse Whittenton). It’s a bright, colorful set although the size of the photo is rather small.
I decided to finish the set for the Packers by creating cards for the other 22 men who played for the team in 1962. I started the numbering with 16 and restarted the alphabet with Herb Adderley. The text is my attempt to write in the style of the original cards. Here are the next 12 cards:
Adderley, Barnes, Gassert, Gros and Iman custom cards are all colorized.
